Welcome to The Caim.
We are a congregation emerging as part of the Highgate Presbyterian Church (PCANZ).
The Worship
‘Caim’ is the Gaelic word for encircling prayer. Every Wednesday we gather together from 7.15 -7.45pm at Roslyn Church. It is a contemplative, reflective worship based on the daily texts integrating silence, prayer, song and communion. Along the way people come and go, but the worship space is open to one and all. We sing a combination of Taize, Iona and music from other sources.
Prayer Book
As you enter the chapel there is a Caim Prayer book in which you are welcome to write the names of people or places or situations which you would like to offer prayer. These will be included in the prayer time as part of the service.
History
We have grown out of a week of Holy Week Services back in 2004 and in May of that year we started as a space opened up in our week to begin a new rhythm for life and worship.
Caimfeast
Most Wednesday evening prior to Caim there is a pot luck meal that moves from home to home each week. We gather together at 6pm for a simple meal, the host usually making a pot of soup with everyone bringing along some bread or accompaniments. Meeting together around food is a great way to build fellowship and everyone is very welcome to come join us and break bread together.
